My Story
Hi, I’m Dan. I began planning my move to Australia in 2019, looking to expand my career in financial planning. I had the qualifications in place, but the pandemic delayed things. Rather than wait it out, I started working remotely for Lime Financial Planning, aligning with Melbourne hours while still living in Bloemfontein. That meant starting work at 1am, committed to building the life I envisioned.
Like many expats, I faced the complexity of moving countries—the planning, the financial pressure, and the challenge of starting fresh. But these experiences shaped me. They taught me resilience and gave me a deeper understanding of what others go through.
In 2021, I joined Tribeca Financial. By early 2023, I made the move to Melbourne. Today, I’m proud to call this city home.
Qualifications
I hold the Certified Financial Planner® designation in Australia. I am members of the Financial Planning Institute of South Africa (FPI) and the Financial Advice Association Australia (FAAA). My qualifications include Graduate Diplomas in Financial Planning in both Australia and South Africa. I am also a Registered Tax Practitioner with the South African Revenue Service (SARS).
Experience
With over 15 years in the financial planning industry, my journey began in South Africa and expanded to Australia. I focus on goals-based, wellbeing-centred financial advice. Licensed in both countries, I specialise in helping expats enhance their lives in Australia through personalised financial planning. My expertise includes retirement planning, investments, cashflow management, insurance, and estate planning, aimed at empowering you to make informed financial decisions.

My clients are aspirers and professionals. I work with Australians from all backgrounds, but the one thing they have in common is a desire for clear, practical, and tailored advice that cuts through the noise. Whether it’s planning for retirement, investing, or managing cashflow, they come to me because they want to make the complex simple.
Having moved from South Africa to Australia myself, I know how challenging that transition can be. That’s why I’m passionate about helping expats get settled and build a strong financial foundation. It’s my way of giving back and supporting others on a similar path.
